This is our last blog response question. Our question this week comes from Hikaru, and what a good question it is!
Nowadays, the world becomes globalized rapidly. Of course,
we need a language skill in any way. So, except the language skills, what else
do you need to live or do well in the globalized social.
Please give a full, detailed response. Go ahead and use examples if you can. Most of all, enjoy!
I think that we need ability to take action to live or do well in the globalized social. To take action mean throw myself in diffirent environment, and it is sometimes very fearful for us because we don't know anything. But if we take action with having courage, it is possible to make new friends or new discovery in new place. You can't do well without take action even if you can speak language very well. To find or make something thanks for take action is important things to live or do well in the globalization social, so I want to claim that we need ability to take action in this global era.
ReplyDeleteWhat you need in the global society is flexibility. When you go to a foreign country, you can find many differences between the country and your country. Then, you may are curious about those differences or reject those. However, you need to adapt many differences in a new country; food, habit, weather and so on. In the 21 century, many people have high possibility to go to foreign countries for globalization. Although Most of them probably encounter several difficulties in a foreign country at first, you can make it to live in a different country if you have ability to adapt to new sorroundings.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the world language is the foundation to have communication, work together with people who are from other countries, or learn many new cultures. People mastered the English, and the same time, people need the flexible thinking. In the globalized social, we have to know and understand each other to live global sociality. For example, the Japanese people usually bow when they work and respect some other people. It is important to do it many time in Japanese culture, and if they do not do it, many Japanese think that the person might be rude. Moreover, people who are from other countries understand the culture. Therefore, except the language skills, people need the flexibility to live in the globalized social.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, smart thinking is the other way that we need to live or do well in the globalized social. When people born, they do not have the abilities to do something smart; however, growing up with develop this skill overtime make people smart thinking. For instance, they can develop their lives and the future, solve problems efficiently, and success without hard working. Finally, behind a language skill, smart thinking is other way that we need to live or do well in the globalized social.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of things I need to live in the globalized social. To be honest,I cannot chose the only one although I bring up this question. But, I have to chose, so I will tell you about attitude. Of course, it is important to leran a second language, however, it can be useless depends on attitude. I mean, if you acquire a second language, but your attitude to everything like a social, people, and so on is not good, you cannot do well in the globalized social. For example, in my case, I am shy as you know and I cannot talk easily to new people. Because of this, I had trouble with making a friend and lost oppotunities for talking in English many times.
ReplyDeleteUnder such circumstances, I cannot improve my English skills very well. In addition, even if I can speak English completely, I will not do well in globalized social if my attitude is not good because globalized social requires much communication skills. Another reason wht attitude is important is that you should change your mind and idea in the globalized social. Every person have their own culture, language, habits, idea, and so on. So, people often get a culture shock when they travel other countries or they experience or know other cultures. In the globalized world, the oppotunity of experiencing other cultures and getting a culture shock increases more than the past world. Therefore, When you get a culture shock, you should change your mind. Then, your attitude also should change in any way at the same time to get used to other cultures. Here, my idea of "good" attitude is being positive. For instance, before I came to the U.S.A, I talked to my English teacher about my studying abroad. He is an American and now living in Japan. He already experienced about culture shock, difficult of getting used to other cultures, and something like that. So, he advised to me that I should be positive and yes-man. When I'm interested in something, I should tri it. When I am invited to something, I should say yes and go if it is not bad or illegality things. That's is his advice and I agree with it so that I think the positive attitude is good and important.But, It's for my case.No doubt the good attitude is depends on person, so flexible is also important as Yuki and Yui said, for example. In short, people should change thier mind and find thier own good attitude to live and do well in the globalized world, I think.
I think the way that we communicate with other people and learning new things are what we need in the global society. Because if we learn more and more, we can have more experience in the life. Also, we can communicate with people easily. Moreover, we can learn different cultures and new things in the world. People should lean the correct way to think and to communicate with others.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is similar to Yuki's. I think we need to accept others in globalized world. When I arrived at US, I did not like American food. I could not accept to this. I think it is bad example. We should find out good sides of others and accept them. In my case, it is small-scale, but the way to think can adapt everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI think we should have many skills in globalized world; however, I think the most important skill is to know how to forgive others. Nowadays, people lead a faster life, they may make some mistake because of the fast life. In the other hand, people live in different country must have different culture and maybe different language. Because of the difference, maybe they would have some misunderstood. At that times, the most important thing we should do is to forgive others and find a solution to solve the misunderstood. No one is the king of the world, so I think to know how to forgive others is very important in globalized world.
ReplyDeletewhat is important except speaking English in our global society is the skill of getting the peases of information from the Internets. The reason of that is that I think criticizing information objectively is needed in order not to make us confuse by a lot of information such as TV program, newspaper, books and so on. But we get the imformation passively from these sources (TV programs, newspaper, books) and we do not criticize these pieces of information is true. On the other hand, Internets is active sources. We can get the information that we want to know. So I think we need to criticize the information that we got passively by getting informaiton from Internets.
ReplyDeleteIn the globalized society, we need to tell or express own opinion, and also need recognize others. The separate world will unify more and more; moreover, some cultures, customs, or thoughts have spread all over the world. For keeping our culture, we should not forget our own culture, custom and thought, and it is important to say own idea and express own thought. However, we should understand others, and sometimes it is good to share the new culture and so on. People feel the world has been global. Therefore, we need to respect own oneself and others.
